Manali is the most attractive tourist destination located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated at an altitude of 2050 meters on the bank of river Beas. It is the no. 1 tourist destination of Himachal Pradesh due to which the state became world famous traveler destination. It is named after the great sage Manu. It was considered as 'Manu Alaya' which factually means 'the dwelling of Manu'. According to Hindu scriptures it is said that the great sage Manu stepped off his huge boat in Manali for recreating the human being life subsequent to a fearful flood had drowned the world. There is also a prehistoric Manu Temple situated in the village named Old Manali.
